Welding Table Additions
Here are the additions I finished adding to my welding table yesterday. They are receiver hitch type mounts for acessories. They are made from 2.5x2.5x 1/4" angle iron welded together. Id ends up as 2x2.25", but I can add a 1/4" shim if I need a tighter fit. I put one on each corner.
I made a platform for the chopsaw to sit on, so the saw deck is level with the tabletop. Long peices are supported by the table during cutting. The next is a chain type pipe vice that was in my shop when I moved here in 1995. I have not used it till now as I had no good place to mount it. When I get some more 2x2" tubing I will make mounts for the drill press and bench grinder. I plan on getting a good bench vice also. Since these were added on each end of the table, I may make some extensions to put on the table for when I need a wider work surface. |

Re: Welding Table Additions
Here's a few more that wouldn't fit on the first post.

Re: Welding Table Additions
I hope at least a few people find some ideas here that they can use on their on table. Although no one has mentioned it yet, so long as it is helpful in some way.

Re: Welding Table Additions
Heyyyyyy! I like that idea for that chop saw. I have the same one, pretty decent once the disk wares down a bit otherwise I get some crazy deviation on the blade.
Digggin it!

Re: Welding Table Additions
If you adjust the fence where the cut piece is directly below the centerline of the motor, the blade cuts better than having to wear it down first. I'm still on my first balde, but a new one will be due soon.

Re: Welding Table Additions
I'll have to check that out, the other thing I wanted to check was a 12" blade as well.
Blade thickness makes a gigantic difference for me too
