Re: Aluminum weld clean up

hit it with a stainless steel wire brush and then wipe the soot away with a clean rag, and repeat, some people will use acetone to polish it up

Spatter I like to use an aluminum block with a sharp corner, takes spatter off but doesnt mar the surface too bad.

Re: Aluminum weld clean up

not sure about aluminum but I worked in a black iron shop years ago that did primarily
mig welding and they had a spray that kept the splatter from sticking

Re: Aluminum weld clean up

Not so much spatter; but the blackening from mig. I am awaiting the arrival of my new Miller 350p and a Dynasty 200 TIG. So welds should look alot better soon, my old Lincoln spoolgun is wornout.
