Another lurker comes forward...

Hey guys, I recently found this site when searching for home made tools and equipment. Seems like a lot of skilled people here and plenty of knowledge to share. I am self taught with the exception of a 2 week adult ed stick welding course in the early 90's. I have been employed one way or another as a welder fabrictor for quite a few years now and one of these days might be good at it lol. I am more of a chassis and suspension guy, but get my fair share of odd ball jobs and personal projects. Love seeing all the pipe guys on here, I have seen some phenomenal welding and some serious talent for sure. And a few make it look pretty damn easy! Where I live in Western NY finding good welders and fabricators is very difficult. Heres a few pics of our day to day parts and pieces, all mig and tig, don't know if I could stick weld to save my life anymore!

Thanks Bob, I am thinking about setting up an intensive one day or weekend class in the shop once a month or so. I really enjoy teaching others (since I had no one to teach me) and I can make just about anyone into a good Mig welder in a day. We have a lot of local guys who have their own welders but they could use help in setting them up and knowing what to look for etc. So we will encourage anyone with their own (small) machine to bring it for the class and we can show them how to set it correctly and make proper use of it. Until then I will just contibute what I can in the forums.
