Re: Cartoon - just for kicks

Seattle Smitty: Many years ago when I was a lad, J. R. Williams had a book of Cowboy cartoons as well. I believe it is still over at the ranch. If me memory serves me correctly, there was a There was a black bird in each picture somewhere OR a pair of eyes fitted into the picture somewhere. I know there were two cartoonists that did those. One did the eyes, one did the Bird. It's Been many many years since I saw those, but they were really good.

Re: Cartoon - just for kicks

How do I know if Im breaking the copyright law and will they come after me?
For example; Lincoln Electric has a definition in one of there books on how load limits are determined (mass/inertia) . If I scan and paste it to a relevant thread, will the Lincoln police come after me? I would think that Lincoln would appreciate that I own their book and discuss it on this forum but, how would I get permission?
Is there a loophole like, just retype what they said?

Re: Cartoon - just for kicks

Check with Lincoln and see if they give permission to "reuse" any of their content. In some of their printed material (books and such) there are statements on how and if anyone can use their printed information (as in most printed books and journals). If you dont want to go through all that trouble, you may be able to quote their material, but make sure you credit them for the info. Otherwise paraphase the material in your own words. If you are really concerned, dont copy and paste any one's material in any way, shape or form.
