Re: Shop Truck project

I can't quite see if you had to slant the windshield posts back when you lowered the top. Not much if any? Barris would be proud, it is well proportioned and sits pretty stout. I'd have used chorme reverse with balls... in 1965, don't now what I'd use today... probably you've got the groove and I'm on the curb.

? Color.. or how 'bout a Caddy firemist color of some kind...or a lotta lotta pearl in an industrial color like Delta tools grey. A bit of Red and you're aok.

enjoy.

Much as I liked Barris Papa, I still reckon Ray Farhner's creations shone through.
I've still got a pic of the Boothill Express hanging in the shed.
After seeing it in a mag as a kid, (I collected rod mags for years) I wrote him from NZ and he sent me several pics of his creations....Boothill is the only one I have left.

Re: Shop Truck project

thanks again for all the likes guys. My plans with the truck are to drive it as is til I sell it, it has several pieces of various pinstripe artists work on it now and will drive it as is. Using the Mercruizer ignition you do away with the distributor and have individual coil packs and supposedly gain some H.P.. It is soon going on my website, its under construction as of now, in the for sale section so I can do a custom Peterbuilt for a shop truck. Got big plans for that one!!!

Re: Shop Truck project

Shades of '34 Ford for the nose or a big train? Either way very keen. so many kit cars, so many look alikes. I go to our big show here, Midnite at the Oasis.. it's a better than average one but the variety and original thought is pretty low.
Mick I'm not up on Rods anymore at all. i.e. who is doing the keen work these days. Boyd in his day, but the late stuff was not up to his early standard. This one reminds me of some of the Big Daddy Roth RatFink drawings and to do akeen section like that where it remains balanced it a real challenge. I thought the keg or barrel might be for moonshine? It is Tenn after all.

To heck with a Peterbuilt if I had your time and talent I'd go straight to a Mack B-61 and never look up

Barris shop truck a Studebaker I think???

Great job!! I like what you did with the car front end sheet metal on the truck,is that a ford hood if so talk about luck how that body line transitions from the cab to the hood,I bet its a blast to drive with that power plant in there!

Whereabouts? I know that's the site all over our province, but FIL is potentially looking for a F-100 to restore/hotrod. We're down near Sherwood Park, btw.

Papa, same here mate.
Ray Farhner was 'back in the day'..50's and 60's.
He built the Boothill Express in '67.
Sadly he passed away in '05.

415hp from a naturally aspirated LT1 is a pretty seriously built motor.

SWells,

Tell me if I'm wrong, but that looks just like a yard I passed driving from Forrestburg to Camrose. Maybe 20 miles or less from Forrestburg?

I live in Manitoba, but this spring I worked a shutdown at the Atco in Forrestburg. I had to slow down for a closer look at the COE as well.

When will we see your shop truck ed?

Im guessing it will be a modified MTD with some pulley re-arranging and a trailer ball on the back?
