A dictionary of common welding terms please?

I'm Aaron from Brisbane, Australia and have been welding for about 6 months now.
I gave up Emergency Room nursing after 23 years and took up welding.

I'm not sure if it's a country vs country thing but I struggle to understand a lot of basic welding terminology posted on this site.
Maybe we could develop a dictionary of common words and phrases?
