I agree with an open root being easier in MIG for me but certainly not in stick.

Not true at all with the correct preparation and filler electrode SMAW is a snap open root. Like spreading warm butter on warm bread.

Open root GTAW is also a snap again with the correct preparation.

For the record, I thought FB was being a prick, and W123 was being a limp prick, but it is what it is, and they definitely went out of their way to help Hanzelz out with the issue at hand, especially FB. Good on them for that.

The link does work but google docs kept freezing my computer last night. After a couple hours of updating I was able to download all 563 pages today.

Glad you got it to work. If you click on FILE (or press CTRL-S) you can download it to your computer.
