Re: Lincoln Ideal arc 300/300
The wire will work as long as you keep the welding amps down. Most people weld at 150 amps or less. your #6 wire should support that. If you need to weld a lot above 150. you will need to get a larger service. Down load the owners manual from the lincoln web site and look up the factory recommendations.

Re: Lincoln Ideal arc 300/300
size the breaker to the wire size,
Go to Lincolnelectric.com with the code number and down load the owners manual. Look at the breaker and wire size chart. Find out if your welder has power factor caps in it. The code number will has a C at the end, if factory installed. Ask a local electrician what is the largest breaker you can install on a #6 wire in a 60% duty cycle welder circuit. A 100% duty cycle standard circuit will have a 50 or 60 amp beaker. |

Re: Lincoln Ideal arc 300/300
Im pretty sure its a 60% duty cycle.. So , An electrician that i talked to said my 6/2 with ground wire on a 60 amp breaker would work just fine. I don't anticipate needing 300 amp output very much..
