Arc cutting out on 250EX

Hi, I've had the 250EX for several months now and it's worked great, up until today. I was welding 3/16 aluminum plate @ around 150 amps. Eveything was working great for about an hour when I started to get this problem:

The arc would start fine but once I hit 150 amps, or so, I would start to get an intermittent cut out of the arc. The arc would shut off for a fraction of a second every 1-2 seconds or so. However, this only lasts for maybe 30 seconds... after that, it's all normal again for the remainder of the bead. Next bead, same cycle all over again.

Any idea what's going on here? Normally I would blame myself, but nothing changed in my configuration between the time when everything was working great and the time when I started getting the problem.

Hoping someone has some insight here...

Thanks,

Geoff

Re: Arc cutting out on 250EX

Geoff,
You can reach our tech support at 877-755-9353 ext 203,204, or 207. It is possible that the work clamp had oxidized under the main cable lug where it makes contact or the connection was as good as it should be in the DINSE connector. Either once could cause excess resistance and destabilize the arc. Both are easily remedied, but give us a call and we can give you the details.

Are you using a water cooler with the torch? If not this also could be an issue.

Jesus,
Can you give some basic setting you are using? Pedal/switch/2T/4T/up/down slope/preflow/AC/DC/ etc?
Oh, and gas flow according to the gauge...
