Re: Home made tools!
Neat little home-made eductor MM. We use slightly more refined
devices for fire fighting foam proportioning.

Re: Home made tools!
![]() Tool for standing up 2"x6" tubing used for lath. Works wonders when the entire length is a few hundred pounds and you're sitting on a 4" I-beam flange. 4" isn't really enough for a whole buttcheek.

Re: Home made tools!
OK!
Here's my contribution. One of the tools I have made, its a bending jig, made for bending flat stock of up to 4" wide, I have used this to bend up to 1/2" thick stock, and can bend as short as 2" from one bend to another! I made the jig for a smaller shop press that I had, and am now converting it to be used on this monster! "The second pic"

Re: Home made tools!
Here's a "poor man's" faceplate I made for a friends wood lathe.
![]() ![]() I welded a nut with the threads that match his lathe spindle to a chunk of 3/4" plate. Then mounted it on a piece of all-thread, chuck it in the metal lathe, turned the plate into a circle and faced it off. I've just recently started using a metal lathe and my skills are not so good. I couldn't get a very nice finish. The facing was fair, but the outside edge kept chattering. I don't think I'm grinding my tool bits correctly (HSS). It'll be good enough for wood working.

You might find that the libraries in your area have some basic machining textbooks. If not, (ours threw stuff like that away long ago; isn't PC), take a look at the reprints of old manuals and such at Lindsay Publications Lots of interesting and reasonably priced material here. Even some stuff on a new field they call 'Welding'!
