Re: how do i change solderer under my name?

Hi Ya Hammerweld there have been many folks that ask that same question. Its all based on the number of posts that you make on the site. Post include New Threads under a forum or replies to an existing forum thread. If you go up to the SEARCH FORUMS and type in solderer you find many answers to you question such as http://weldingweb.com/showthread.php...light=solderer

I've been accused of that more than once and rightly so at times.

Yeah , but you are a pretty Fart Smeller too. I have followed your posts and it is obvious to a blind man you can weld a pretty fair bead. I for one appreciate your willingness to share the technical info you have. Since I'm a self taught metal melter, your insights have helped me find the answers behind what happens and why. Thanks

If the title truly reflected my skills it would say something about hot-melt glue!!!

Re: how do i change solderer under my name?

I can't tell if your question has been answered or not. The word or phrase beneath your screen name is related to the number of forum posts you have. As you can see, you have made 10 posts now, which changed your 'level' to 'WeldingWeb Apprentice'. These doesn't mean anything, the owner of the forum created these words as categories for levels at the corresponding number of posts. Think of your post count as points, if you earn enough 'points' you gain a new 'level', which serves absolutely no purpose and accomplishes nothing. Many forums have this feature as many forums use the same software.

Re: how do i change solderer under my name?

The title is an odd thing, it can be feel like an important thing to people. But, it is strictly based on the number of posts. A high level of participation is valuable, but there is no measure of the quality of the your participation, and this is too too difficult to rate. I'd vote to get rid of the title, we can see everyone's post count.

You can see, I've nothing better to do than post on all varied threads here, but only 1618 since Nov. 2005, I've been slacking. What comes after Craftsman? I strive to achieve the next level! Can I program my computer to automatically submit a one liner every few hours, would the moderators shut me down?

Re: how do i change solderer under my name?

I'm always amazed at the reasons this question gets asked; I think it's worth having the titles if just because it shows something about the interests, the character, the patience of some new members.

Guess I just never learned to worry about what the crowd wanted, or who 'they' liked, 'cause I already knew what my interests and values were.

Re: how do i change solderer under my name?

It's all mathematics.

Solve for Name.

We use the multiplicative inverse property, therefore...

x = name/solderer

You multiply both sides by solderer to leave you with...

(x)(solderer) = name

Wallah.

Put a whole bag of marble in your mouth. Every time you lay down a bitchin bead you get to spit out a marble. When you've lost all your marbles your a welder.

In as much as 'soldering' in relationship to 'sweating copper fittings' is a lost art, it ain't so bad.

This is a good thread to increase my post count!

Just kidding! I dont think many will benefit from a post from me. But I lurk and learn from the artist on this sight. I think every question I have ever wondered has been asked. I just search and learn.

If this were a fishing forum the name would be changed from welder to baiter. But then who would strive for that title?
