Re: Coleman Powermate portable Generator

If the generator is NOT an inverter-based unit, it probably needs to be flashed. The metal core of the generator can lose its magnetic field over time and then can't produce electricity.
Without a manaul for your generator, I can't give you a guaranteed procedure, but you might try connecting 12 volts DC to the AC output receptacle of the generator while it's off The term "flash" means just that - you only need to brush the wire across a battery terminal long enough to see the spark.

No guarantees - some generators require partial disassembly to get to the correct terminals for flashing.

Re: Coleman Powermate portable Generator

was unable to find auser manual anywhere they do not exist anymore, found out it is brushless does not have brushes I tried to flash the jenset by useing a double male plug from generator to a 115 house plug however that did turn on the droplight I had pluged into the generator while it was backflowed but did not repolarize it ,,,,, So i believe it hat bad Diods or Rotor damage thanks for all the feedback
