Member castweld (Peter) is our resident "cast expert" who is more than willing to offer pointers and suggestions. I have personally witnessed his facility and him working his magic and can say with the utmost certainty that he knows his stuff.
In the field, he'll likely recommend "cold" welding with nickel rod. By cold he instructs short beads of 1/2" or so length and wait until you can hold your hand on it before laying the next short bead. Then again, braizing may be his recommendation depending on what the application and situation is. Do a search of his threads and you'll get a feel for what he does and how he does it.
