Clarke 160En MIG question

Hey I've recently got a clarke gas/no gas flux core welder and was wanting to use it with gas...

Ive tried a search on forum for converting the setup to gas, but came up short.

Is there anyone that might be able to help with that? walkthrough, tutorial? hyperlink?

Im new to flux core ,and its becoming a pain with how careful i have to be on sheet metal

You can also contact Jeff at HTP America. He has a lot of parts for these machines.

Re: Clarke 160En MIG question

If it's the same as my Clarke TurboWeld 150EN then all you need to do is adapt the regulator outlet hose (CG 530) to the little metric sized poly supply line coming from the machine.

My machine has a gas valve in the torch handle, yours may as well. To check blow air into the supply hose with machine off, depress torch trigger and feel for air flow from nozzle. If you have a solenoid you may have a female CGA 530 and that'll make it easy.

I used a female CGA 530 x 3/8NPTM adapter with needle valve, 3/8NPTF coupler, 3/8NPTM x 1/4" pushlock fitting and sleeved the ~5mm poly line with 1/4" air brake hose to adapt the regulator hose to my machine's poly line. You can use the special glue kits for HDPE type plastics but I just scuffed, cleaned with alcohol and glued with standard cyanoacrylate (crazy glue).
