anyone hear of a Gast air compressor?

Friend of mine has a 4 cylinder/opposed cylinder Gast compressor with a G.E. electric motor on it..

Anyone know anything about these compressors?

I need to get more info on it.. i'll get some pictures and part#.. I looked on Gast's website and couldnt find a part number, I would think its probably an older discontinued compressor.

GAST still uses the double ended motor on their models 7HDD and 8HDM compressors. What seems to be the problem as they can be difficult to rebuild.

Re: anyone hear of a Gast air compressor?

Gast is known for making vacuum pumps and blowers, I have never heaed of a high pressure/volume compressor from them. I have used their vacuum pumps for sewage catch tanks. They are also used in milking machines. If they make a compressor, just make sure it will handle the tools you intend to run on it.

I have a Gast 4 head compressor. It is an oil-less compressor designed for specific functions.

It will do as a light duty standard compressor, if you remember that oil-less compressors don't have the duty cycles or CFM that a body shop compressor will have.
