Miller 211 Ground

Hello all, I have been watching this site for several months and have learned a lot. Thanks!

I have used the search function and have not been able to locate the answer to this question, which I am probably over thinking but figured I would ask the group and get the correct answer.

I have a Miller 211 that I purchased a few months ago and I am less than satisfied with the supplied ground clamp. I located some decent Tweco Copper ground clamps on Cyberweld but am unsure which one to order. The 211 has a rated output of 150 A at 23.5 VDC, 30% Duty Cycle (230 V) but a Amp range of 30-210. The Copper Tweco ground Twec clamps are rated 200A, 300A and 500A, each being slightly more expensive. The question is which clamp to Order? Thanks, I would think the 300A but unsure if there is a reason to go higher or lower.

The 200 A clamp will be more than enough. While the amp range may go to 210, the duty cycle is quite low at that output.

Re: Miller 211 Ground

So, being a holiday weekend and wanting to buy the new ground clamp I stopped in at the local Tractor Supply. I grabbed the last ground clamp on the rack and checked out. I get home get ready to install it and my new Hobart ground clamp has CHINA cast into it Guess that will be getting returned and I will be waiting and ordering the Tweco. Just sad that you can't even buy a piece of cast brass that is US made.

It is sad, but its no different than back in the 70's, 80's and 90's. Everything used to say, "Made in Japan.". Then as time went on, products started saying this in this order as I recall correctly:

Made in Taiwan
Made in Mexico
Made in china
Made in Indonesia
Made in the Philipeens
Made in Vietnam
Made in India
Made in China (again)

China has dramatically and successfully conquered the manufacturing market now in bulk. India will be a close second place. When you have countries that have very little Enviromental (nazi) regulation and no labor unions, that's where the manufacturing goes. Here in America, factories close up and move to the above listed countries. Business is business. It sucks, but it's reality.
