He will be back Monday and for the short time I have had with him he is coming along nicely thankyouverymuch..

I am interested to see how he is doing in September...

Germans have a national apprentice program at 15, good idea huh? Wish we had an organized way to show a young fella a good path.
Apprenticeship is a great way to go - both my dad and uncle went through a program in Germany during the 1950s to become what they called Machinenschlosser - literally "machine builders". After working in the profession as machinists they went on to get their degrees in engineering. Good to know what you can build and how to build it before design work begins. We really do need to bring that type of program back for more than just the trades.

Firefighting school, Oh No! there gonna knock all the common sense right out of him, almost as bad as college. LOL, Trust me , I know. Especially if it is a state run school.

Re: Project "Summer School"...

THANK YOU Zap.
THANK YOU Expat.
It seems it's more difficult now for teenagers to do stuff like that now than when you & I were young.
I so much want to say that any kid who "wants to bad" enough can find a good mentor to apprentice and CAN do it. But it seems that the whole "cult"ure is arrayed against that nowadays. Those in charge don't want to see initiative and self actualization in the making. Not the early 1800's any more.
