Schematics for plasma cut40

SCHEMATICS NEEDED for Simadre ct 416D plasma/tig/stick 40amp (just like lotos 40, everlast 40, cut 50 etc.) I think I might have burned out a rectifier diode, but not tested yet. Electronics man told me to find out where the fuse or breaker is, and start there. We both looked it over good and didn't see any sign of circuit protection. He told me that the "UL approved" label means that by fire law, there has to be a circuit protection of some kind. Does anyone out there have a manual with wiring schematics which could appy to this machine? I bought this new as a customer return 2 years ago. This is the first ever problem for it, and that is using it at least 4-5 times each week since purchase. Because of the way I bought it I got no manual or paper work with it. Stick weld works fine, plasma blows air and very weak spark if any, tig the same weak spark. Thanks for any help, and just for reading this. My email address is a1guitarnut@yahoo.com and thanks again -- a1dwayne (this normally cuts fast with strong arc)

Your failure is pretty much run of the mill for Chicoms. First the plasma goes out then TIG and finally the stick quits. Will be interested to know if you are able to repair or get it repaired and the cost...

Hey stevewm;1323111 thanks for the info. about Parker. That might be my best choice right now. I build custom driveway gates as my main business, and I am waiting to get this machine working 100% again to cut a big picture & frame it into a gate that is nearly finished. There will be lots of detail and texture work on picture (tree bark, branches, deers, scenery), so I want to have it working real good. I am trying to test and fix it my self, but might be smarter not to??? Anyway, thanks, and let me know how I can help you out! a1dwayne It is missing stick weld power today (had stick only the other day). I might be only feeding the 220v. with one leg, deeper inside. Need to find the fuses or breaker and check first. They sure did a good job of hiding them! I will let you know. a1dwayne (by the way, I live in Oregon also)

If this is your first plasma, and you use it to make money as part of your business then do yourself a favor and buy a quality machine. Rather than fixing ever year or two get a Hypertherm 30 or 45 or similar like ESAB or TD. Then it willl be the last plasma u need to buy unless yr business grows and u need 2 of them
All the chicoms are made for hobby and homeowner use. Esp the 3 in one machines...

Also I think tools say a lot about the way you do business. Show up with a truckload of Harbor Freight and Chicom stuff says u do everything on the cheap. Some customers may not notice but fellow contractors will and I doubt they would consider sub contracting or considering your business for future work.

I have a Simadre 200P in with Parker now to be repaired. He has had it for a while but has stayed in touch with me. From what I gather there is little configuration control between factories though most use PCBs made by Chiry. From what he has told me, he didn't have the schematics for my particular board and so he reverse engineered it. he also found a blob of solder across the legs of a failed transistor leading me to believe this board was repaired at some point. It was the third machine I received after 3 DOAs - should have bailed out then. At any rate, it worked well for two years then just quit altogether.

It was my game plan all along to get the machine repaired if/when it quit rather than spending $3000 on a domestic machine though in looking back, I question my own logic.

The cost for this repair and 1yr/3yr labor/parts warranty on the entire machine is $400 including shipping both ways. The 416 will probably run $300 (smaller machine, fewer functions). I have a 50A plasma from him that has worked well for the past six years and has been used off and on to cut1/2".

Not to beat a dead horse but the American made stuff isn't immune from PCB failure. I have already been through two earlier PCB failures, one on my Hobart 10k Champion gen/welder ($400) and on a Cutmaster 39 ($600, beyond economical repair).

Re: Schematics for plasma cut40

There are no manuals for these things. Cut-Pro 50 is selling on ebay and every machine is a scam. I can't even find a manufacture that claims to build them.
When a machine like Cut-Pro 50 gets spotted for the fraud they are, they slap another cover and name on the junk machine and go on selling. From now on I stick with Lincolin or other top brand.
