Re: How to remove hand control on Diversion 180 when upgrading hose

This upgrade is awesome, however, I have been welding at 115amps and the torch gets pretty hot.

It does - its only rated to 120 - 125A, but the control you have is so worth it. You could upgrade to a watercooled one.

http://www.arc-zone.com/index.php?ma...cl0if8thpudf20

There are a lot of less "official" ways of water cooling but those are some brand names.

Re: How to remove hand control on Diversion 180 when upgrading hose

I'm with the guy who says to convert that hole to a Dinse 50 (like the one that comes on a Dynasty). Then drill a seperator hole for a female gas connect and it becomes like every other welder.

You could make up a stinger and stick with the machine, stay with your air cooled torch, or change over to water cooled without ever opening the machine again.

If you like the WP9 torch, you will LOVE the WP20 water cooled torch. Same light feel and never gets hot.

There are countless threads on this. The easiest thing is to just make up a fitting and hook up to your garden hose.

If you're interested, I have a 25' waterline and a homemade 20 torch connector with a dinse 50 plug on the end. Works fine.

This will work if you separate the power and gas and install a Dinse 50.
