Re: Powermax 600 issues
What is the machine air pressure set at.? To high of pressure will cause the torch to fire as you describe.
Air pressure is set in air test mode. Air must be flowing out the torch. See label on case or owner's manual. Should be 65 to 70 psi. Before you cut into it. Do an ohm check on the wires. down load the manual and find the torch on the machine diagram. make sure no colored wires are shorted to each other and all the wires are not open. Cap switch and trigger switch can be tested at the main torch plug. With consumables in place you should see a short in the cap switch wires and the pilot to electrode wires. Both should open when consumables are removed. |

Re: Powermax 600 issues
I had the pressure set at 72psi wtih torch running, 110psi entering back. I'll test all the leads tomorrow.

Re: Powermax 600 issues
Well, tested continuity across the torch today, everything's good. My F-I-L is going to study the manual and see if we can test the board itself a little better, but I'm thinking that's going to be the problem :/
wonder if the board can be repaired rather than replaced @ $600
