Re: New toy

Looks like a nice big unit for some serious welding. The top unit comes apart from the bottom unit and it can be carried away from it via an extension cord ?

Re: New toy

Hi Guys
Most likely you will find that the machine is made by another manufacturer and is probably re badged.

As I understand it WIA and AUSMIG are the only two welding manufactures that still assemble machines here in Oz.

Even then, I suspect that it won,t be from 100% local components.

That aside, Wellos new big red beast looks great and Im sure he will get many years of use from it.

I take it that it is a 3 phase Wello ?

regards to all
Grahame

Re: New toy

My mig welder is a BOC and is made by miller. Its just painted orange in stead of blue. All the parts and part number are miller. I was told that all the BOC welders are millers. Not sure if this is still true but it was at one time. I one thing I do know is all the BOC badaged welders I have seen and used work very well.

Wello, just check inside the welder somewhere and see who manufactured it, If it is miller it will say it somewhere.

Re: New toy

The controls and internal parts look like an HTP, as long as it works well and you're happy with it is all that matters.

Re: New toy

jamlit its not a miller (wish it was )I can say that for sure as Miller own local welder maker WIA and they won't bring 240v Millers in to our market

did a little research after work today found its home its made in Finland
its a rebadged Kemmpi welder which is fine by me as I have used that brand a lot over the years and found them to be good machince's
Grahame its not 3 phase its single phase at present but you can open her up and play with its inside's and it will run 3 phase by changing the jumpers to suit I have only used it for about 10 minutes so to make sure it worked you what can happen sometimes when you buy sight unseen came with 2 rolls of ally wire than I most like will never use I use my tig for most ally work at home

Re: New toy

Nice looking unit, Wello. Congrats. I have noticed that you guys down under have had the remote feedes setups a little longer than we have. A bud in NZ has a Cigweld 300a model much like that. I recently saw a Thermal Arc version of the same machine here. I liked it. Lots of flexibility with a 26' remote feeder.
