Sorry no video. I'm about as tech. savy as an old order Amishman.
Great! I look forward to those numbers. Thanks!

I used a pneumatic cylinder for some Halloween props before, so I'm sort of of aware of the amount of force those cylinders can make but they're usually rated at a certain P.S.I.

That reminds me, I need to start tinkering with that cylinder I have.

if youre trying to do many of them faster, you might be better off doing something with rollers that you can feed cans into, it would flatten them lengthwise instead of axially, but i think they'd end up thinner, so the end product wouldnt actually take up more space

I agree this build was with science class in mind and space conservation as a secondary goal. I don't think rollers would be very hard either.

I just crushed a bunch of cans @ 100psi. it crushed them fine. I then jumped the pressure to 125 that makes a big difference. They flattened out much more.

Thanks! Good to know. 100 PSI is quite a bit. So is 125 PSI. You might get away with less PSI with a bigger cylinder. There's equations to figure out the force. I need to look them up again.

I was playing around with pneumatics for a Halloween prop. It's kinda fun!
