What are some things that come naturally...
That most newbs wouldn't know or will find out as they go.
such as what things to look out for, techinques, things u cant weld over. I hope u kinda get the idea, if not then take a educated guess lol. I've seen other topics like this on other forums in the past and it does help the newbs to learn alot and learn from other people's mistakes. I have to weld a hood latch/spring in my mustang engine bay, so would i take a safe welding blanket and cover the carb and such. An example o the kinda things i'm talking about. Only you can help prevent me from starting a forest fire. -Joe |

Re: What are some things that come naturally...
There's a welding blanket @ harbor fright. Welding isn't so bad provided you're not throwing slag everywhere, and you're relatively free of grease & oil buildups. Now cutting safely can be a tough one if it's not clean.

That it's better to spend the 2 minutes before welding cleaning then 20 minutes or more after your done welding. Just remember I have never heard anyone tell me that steel is too clean!

Re: What are some things that come naturally...
not too shore there are regulare things to do or watch out for, seems like every job has its own set of do's and dont's and you just keep lerning as you go. wisdome comes with time kinda thing, the basics are in every welding book. after that its all about time on the torch as the teacher.
![]() good luck and stay safe.
