Hi from Niagara Falls - DIY & Hobby guy

But I do take my hobbies waaay too far so that might not be an accurate description.

Out of curiosity I started up my Opa's ancient buzz box and got hooked - all the possibilites!

I've gotten quite an education from this site and from around the net (ie weldingtipsandtricks). Thanks to all for this great benefit.

Bought a pile of steel and 1st up is the table so I can actually do all the other projects properly.

1/4" plate and either 2x2x1/8 or 3x3x1/8 tube for a basic frame. Only thing I need to know is about treating the insides of the tubes:

- if the tube is going to be sealed off via welding, does the interior need to be protected at all?

- I understand to coat the interior you 'swish' around the liquid coating. But afterwards the ends will be welded so around the welded area the coating will be burnt off. What can be done?

- how do you prep the interior surface when you don't have a sandblaster? FWIW I have ordered the wet sandblasting kit from Northern Tools (thanks for letting me know about it!)

Once I have that sorted I'll go right ahead with the table.

Thanks All
Will
