Pics of my welds (6013 stick 55A-70A 2mm 1/16")

Hey

I'm new - stick welding (AC) on about 2mm (1/16" metal tubing) with 1/16" 1063 rods

Have taken some pics (high resolution)

I noticed the slag was really hard to get off especially around the edges in all cases (still some on there - have to get the ball hammer and a small pointy object to chip out around the edges!)

Any thoughts /suggestions/criticism welcomed

Edit: if you click on the image once to get onto image upload site and then click again on the image - you will get super-high-resolution

Hey flashburn, the difficulty with slag removal is indicative of a travel speed that is too fast. The molten metal from the electrode is not being given the chance to fill the crater that has been melted in to the parent material. Try slowing down and focusing on the brighter spot beneath the slag puddle. This is your actual puddle of molten metal. You should see it growing wider as you slow down. I'm sure DSW can elaborate a lot more and offer better advice.
