Sa200 For Sale whats it worth?

Found this guy for sale, what is he worth I have never dealt with a Sa200 that has a Hercules. Are they as good as the 162's? I am thinking that I would do some repairs and general cleanup and re-sell. Also wondering if this is a homemade system with the engine seperated from the windings? Age of the machine maybe? Any help would be appreciated.

if it runs and welds, id offer $300. anything over $500 and ive lost interest. If that was a homemade conversion, it was nicely done!

$300 is pretty much my beginning offer on an old SA200 that I have some interest in. You gotta start somewhere. The issue with the model shown in the photos is going to be the replacement engine parts.

I have a few, similar to yours, that I have spotted should you need a couple more for parts machines.

Thanks

Didn't they put that motor in Hyster forklifts? The smaller hard rubber wheel types, not the 4 tire type.

Anyway I think that would be a place I would start to look for parts.

OBTW I do not believe that is a homemade or built up unit in any way, look at the sheet metal on the hood the embossed roll, that is factory stuff for sure,
I am not the expert but my guess is probably post WWII a couple of years and its not a SA-200, it says clearly on the model label its a SAE-200 which is why its different. Again I am not the expert and I could be off and prematurely aging it a bit on years, but I would feel pretty confindent in pre 53-54.

Just to give you something to make a comparison. Here is a $300 Lincoln SA200 I just bought. Machine only, no trailer. Will be used for parts.

the sae200 has dual stepless control of the volt/amp curve. the sa200 has a range selector and stepless controll of amps in overlapping ranges.
