New to Welding

After years of wanting to learn how to weld, I finally jumped in with both feeta and purchased a used Lincoln AC-225 stick welder. I went for a stick welder because I have a couple of buddies that have MIG and TIG welders and the price was too good to pass up.

I've been practicing for several days now and am starting to get the hang of using the machine, striking an arc and manipulating the puddle. Welds are still a little rough and I am having a bit of issues with splatters but overall I seem to be getting better (that's what grinders are for right??).

I have a couple of projects on the shelf waiting until I get some more practice under my belt. The information from this forum and the internet generally has been quite helpful.

Hope that once I get better I'll be able to contribute more besides asking n00b questions.
