Welding to cast aluminum

Anything I need to worry about when welding to cast aluminum (like you would with cast iron)?

I assume I am ok to weld directly to it without any issues like I would with cast steel (not cast iron)?

You planning on using your mig?

Clean it, bevel it, and use 4043 and you should have reasonable success.

X2 on the preheat. Also clean it VERY WELL and then clean it again. Good luck
