Pipefitter Calculator

Hey all you pipefitters. This guy came into our shop selling this pipefitter calclater. My GF bought it and it saves a buncha time. We figgered a cut to miter a 90 degree fittin to a 80 degree in about 3 seconds flat. We did a rolling offset and it was dead on to some work we did last week and it was dead on too. It took us about 4 seconds to figure that one! I haven't seen anything like before and my GF and Superintendant haven't either.

There website is www.americanpipefitter.com. I tried to search for it but there brand new so they didn't come up on any search engines, so enter the website manually.

Re: Pipefitter Calculator

Here's one that is a lot easier on the pocket book (89.95 USD) and has more functions: http://www.countonci.com/productcart...n.asp?url_id=1
This one is somewhat more or less the latter generation pipe calculators (computers) it takes longer and you can enter degree of fitting data when figuring "offsets". And the high priced one doesn't some of the functions that this other unit can perform.
If money is no object get both of them and any other ones you can find.
By the way both of these units sell for under $10 USD from Chinese manufactures. You can also get all those expensive mobile telephones for 20-30 bucks USD. My so bought one of the I-phones when they first came out and I send him a website IN CHINA where he could have gotten it for 24$ and it would be set up for Verizon. Yeah I look the prices some of these companies are charging us Craftsmen; is F88king robbery. It's reminds me of how the little bitty roach motel close to a construction project goes from 23$ a night to 89$ a night as soon as they hear that they are going to start getting people to fleece.

Another thing I just noticed about the high dollar Pipe-Fitters Calculator all the measurement on page http://www.americanpipefitter.com/Ca...ulator,_P.html in decimels, makes me wonder if it can operate with fractions in the computations???? Anyone know???

Re: Pipefitter Calculator

Depending on on what size pipe or tube your working with, and your internet access, here are a couple I've used a time or two. Most of the time I use my Bend Tech Pro to print out tube wraps.

Re: Pipefitter Calculator

Here is what we are using in Washington state. There is now a construction pro calculator designed specifically for the pipe trades, and has take offs for fittings and different pipe information.

Re: Pipefitter Calculator

I would check out the new app for android. Called Pocket Pipe Calculator. Its cheap.. 2.99 but it does the core basics that keep you moving forward. Browse the android market and look for it. Its by LMF Services I believe.

www.pipefittercalculator.com is their website.
