sorry... nebraska is a little far... have you checked all your community colleges? they may not be the best, but it's better than nothing. also, chekc around at the local welding/fab shops. they may have an apprenticship program or at least a guy that would be willing to show you.

later,
Andy

You're in Ohio - both the Lincoln and Hobart welding schools are in Ohio.

...or David R is having a clinic which isn't as close but probably a hop, skip and jump over to Western NY. Either that or you can come to Syracuse any time and I'll teach you.

Sure enough, but my shop policy applies to everyone - you break it, you replace it.

Re: Anyone Near Cincy, Oh?

Tell me some of your welding problems. Type of welder & what type of welding you plan on doing, structural, Auto Body, Hobbiest you know. So explain a little.

I don't know how much experience you have welding? I have a little over a year of self tought experience, that I could share with you. And a couple of books on this matter. Oh and no money for help, but consumables are another thing.

Have you looked into Great Oaks? They may have a class or something that would help.

In order to go to teh Oaks you have to live in that district and I don't live in any of their districts.

Re: Anyone Near Cincy, Oh?

Consumables are welding equipment, like gas, wire, electrodes, etc.

Re: Anyone Near Cincy, Oh?

Do you own a welder of any kind? I'd start by getting my hands on a welder and do lots of reading and practicing. I bought my HH187 and knew nothing. Read, read, and asked lots of questions and posting pics of welds. I am surely not a pro but I have learned alot.
