That stuff is fantastic! Being that I have absolutely zero artistic talent I can't imagine how you get them to look so "right"!

Re: Christmas presents we made

This is a trailer top I made for a local electrician - air conditioner technician, so he can cart his equipment around, it will fit a full air conditioner in the back. It is lockable and all three doors lift on gas struts, The spare wheel is mounted using a complete new hub assembly as he travels far and wide working this way if he needs a hub or bearings he has them with him.

As always Wello you are more than welcome. But I dont know how much I can teach you, it will be more like you teaching me.

I would like to know a little more about your scroll bender, I could sure use one of those.

I am about to build myself a ring roller but I am still researching them. Do you have one?

G'day Alan it's not hard I just stand at my welding table and shape metal until it looks right, sometimes it happens real quick and sometimes real real slow.

Re: Christmas presents we made

welder.man, those look great. i think i may have to steal your idea with that tree mural piece. i recently bought a house and on;t have anything to put on the walls yet. do you have any closer pictures of it, or ther similar pieces? i'm looking for something that would be nice to hang on the wall of my living room, so not too whimsical, but not too dull and boring. i like that little bee piece too. i think that would look great in a kid's room.

Later,
Andy

G'day mate I don't have a problem with anyone using my work as a base to work from so long as you post pictures of the new improved version.

G'day Andy the frames were from 1/2" square bar and the tree branches were from 5/8", 9/16", 1/2", 3/8" and 1/4" solid bar I have made a few more and have added some 1/8" wire to them to add some more detail.

I shaped the whole lot cold on the anvil used the mig to stick it together and painted them either in black paint or buffed each piece on a wire wheel and sprayed them with clear lacquer.

Re: Christmas presents we made

Hey Simon,

I checked out your website. You do some awesome projects! These are the types of things what my husband wants me to do. I have a hard time coming up with my own ideas though. I love your table bottoms. I run a Hobby Shop (been open a month) & I'm going to teach a mosaic table top class and need to figure out a style table for the bottoms.

2 questions for you, How do you know what to price your items and what type of bender(s) do you have? I do have an anvil but really have no idea how to bend stuff in a cool way that won't take me all day. I'm not as strong as the metal.
