How about a Georgia gathering? (second try!)

Ok, I totally missed Hammick_Welding's thread in October for the same topic, but it seemed like the idea died when he stopped posting. Anyway, I would be interested in providing a location for a gathering at my shop in Braselton near Road Atlanta and Lanier Raceway. I've got good MIG, TIG, Stick and O.A. equipment not to mention a killer 90 amp plasma cutter. It's my tube bending shop so I could demonstrate full mandrel bending as well...

The one thing I'd really enjoy is some good stick pointers. I don't really use it much at all except very rarely with nickel rods on cast iron, so I'm not very practiced with it at all.

My shop is 2000 sq.ft. located about 5 miles west of exit 129 on I-85 if you're wondering where it is.

Re: How about a Georgia gathering? (second try!)

Anyone from the area should attend!!!!!!!

It's a great opportunity to learn and get to use equipment thats not in your average home shop!!

Anyone within a 300 mile radius..It's a no brainer..

I have had great success with my classes (With the help of others that donate time and toys )

DO IT!!!!

Braselton is a little farther from me, but I would still be glad to come. Again I have nothing to offer in the way of instruction, but I would definitely be on the list. Might give me a chance to hit the Hooch for some Trout.

That sounds fun too. Should I bring my canoe?

Surely there are more in the area than the couple that have posted. Where's Smithboy? I wish I knew what happened to Hammack...

I am interested...It would only be a couple of hour drive for me...If I remember, Braselton has a few antique stores that would keep a wife busy for a few hours, right???

Re: How about a Georgia gathering? (second try!)

I'm in! You guys set the time and place and let me know if you need me to bring any of my toys down. I'd love some TIG tips and could stand a little brush up on my stick. I'm North Atlanta on 575 so it's not that big of a trip for me either.

Re: How about a Georgia gathering? (second try!)

I live in Dacula near Hamilton Mill. I work out of Athens and have a small shop there. I work for a laser leveling company and do a lot of repair work on equipment (tractors and implements). There are several techniques I could use help with. I have a bottle of 98/2 and some dualshield rolls I could bring.

Re: How about a Georgia gathering? (second try!)

98/2 would be great - I've really been wanting to try some with my XMT 300 CC/CV and see what spray is all about. I just don't have a good bottle program going yet and can't spare the ones I own to try it.

Incidentally, I am about 5 miles from Hamilton Mill right now up 124...

I sure would like to come down and meet you guys and improve my welding skills. I would have to ask that you promise not to get me drunk and take me to a topless bar, after all the welding in done.

So, do I see about 10-12 people interested now? That sounds like a shop full! I guess I need to start thinking about a date...
