The fumes from welding over cadmium plated or galvanized parts is not good.
Hexavalent chromium fumes associate with high current mig welding of stainless steels is apparently a big deal these days. Apparently ozone produced in the welding arc can interact with chorinated solvents (tricloethylene maybe) and produce phosgene gas.
