New guy here Kansas

Just wanted to say hi.Ive been in heavy industrial construction for about 21 years.Water and wastewater treatment plants..Mechanical/pipe foreman.I have been a certified pipe welder for about 15 years.I guess i started welding when i was about 9-10 yrs old my mom still bitches about the electric bills she used to get.Never had any formal training, just kinda self taught, picked up pointers from older guys when i was younger.Im mostly just a stick welder, dont care much for MIG and ive never touched a TIG welder. Most of what i weld is heavy stuff so ive never had much need for anything else.I will try to be of any help i can.

Re: New guy here Kansas

brh1969, if you get moved closer let me know. The wife and I get to Wichita every few months. What size and type of mig welder did you try in the past? I have a HH 187 I really like. I started out welding with stick welders several years ago and didn't care much for the migs at first when I first started using them, but now I weld with the mig welder about 80-90% of the time.

I also have a Lincoln Tombstone AC/DC stick welder.

Ive used several MIG welders.Didnt say i wasnt any good at it,just dont care for them.95% of what i do is outside and i really, really dont like flux core.I am kinda interesred in Dual-Shield???Some guys have been welding pipe on our job for a different company with gas and flux core,i think??Havent had a chance to talk to them yet.
