Re: Everlast Products is proud to announce it’s 1st “WELD for a PLASMA” contest .
Are submissions via digital camera under the users name posted here so we can all see?
The pro welding judges? Are they three from the weldingweb forum, there are a lot of good welders here. Of course they would not be able to enter ![]() I know I have no chance in this but things people might want to know. Dave R. Why do you not qualify? No stick welder? |

Re: Everlast Products is proud to announce it’s 1st “WELD for a PLASMA” contest .
First weld, he is saying, that you are welding two pieces together with no bevel in 1G
Second is basically an upside down "T" welded in 1F. Third is "L" welded on the outside corner in "3G" up. ------------------------------------------------------------------- How long are the pieces that one is welding? And how much of that weld is judged? Also, if I understand this correctly, this is strictly an atheistic contest? Last edited by smokeshow; 06-20-2008 at 04:59 PM. |

It should be atheistic since it will be pictures right, but I assume pros can see other things in the picture a novice can not? Good question on the length (both cases) as well? It will be fun to pop in here and see the work of pros and those that are working on it. Like I said you will not see mine here. hahaha. Everlast should make a thread for the pictures so we do not have to jump around to see them also. |

Re: Everlast Products is proud to announce it’s 1st “WELD for a PLASMA” contest .
I ran a few beads. Nothing great. I have not burned 10 lbs of 6011 in my life.
It takes 2 rods to get a 6" bead, so there will be a start stop included. You want dimes or no dimes? David

Re: Everlast Products is proud to announce it’s 1st “WELD for a PLASMA” contest .
Actually, I have never ran a single bead sith SMAW. So I probably would come in dead last.
And 6011? Wow, I think I have never seen that rod used, mainly 6010. Good luck David!!! |

Re: Everlast Products is proud to announce it’s 1st “WELD for a PLASMA” contest .
Nice work Tensaiteki.
You will like the plasma cutter if it is anything like the Cut50D. Hobart is not a Miller or Lincoln. The Hobart MIG here I have used works "as well" on most days as my Harbor Freight MIG. But the Hobart jams up all the time. EDIT: Sorry to mention Harbor Freight in the Everlast forum, I was making a point as I have no Everlast MIG. I do not need a MIG now with the Super200P. Re: Everlast Products is proud to announce it’s 1st “WELD for a PLASMA” contest .
The winner is, as anyone did not know. Tensaiteki. Just glad to see a real weldor here in our forum.
The welds look great, to bad other welders did not chime in, but I think the results would have been the same. Nice work Tensaiteki and thanks for your hard work, expense and time. We've been busy with work and are sorry for the delay. So it is final, Tensaiteki is the best weldor in this contest. |

Re: Everlast Products is proud to announce it’s 1st “WELD for a PLASMA” contest .
Smack,
We currently have a post your welding project contest for 3 prizes. First place is a PowerMig 200. Second is for a SuperCut50 plasma and 3rd is for a welding helmet. Find the thread a few posts back in the forum and post your pics and you will also see basic criteria and rules...which are few.
