Re: Craftsman's return policy

A warranty is usually full of loop holes anyways. Levi jeans has one too. Bet ya didnt know that. Look at the leather tag. As long as that tag is intact theyre supposed to have a warrantee. Someone paid for the warrantee on those tools and they were defective so I use that warranty. I also use warrantees on car batteries when they go bad. The price is jacked up so high on everything anymore we as the consumers should get something back. Im just tired of paying $9 for a tool it cost the company .15 cents to produce and market. And its not even that company its the retailer jacking the prices up.

Re: Craftsman's return policy

My wifes granfather passed about 2 years back, he was into auto racing in the 40s to the late 60s . He had every tool you could imagine and my sons have aquired them all. now take that 3/8 ratchet from the 60s and put it next to a brand new"laser cut' one and you will see just how sh---y they have gotten.

Re: Craftsman's return policy

I have a mixture of Craftsman, SK, and Snap-on. I have never had a problem replacing any Craftsman sockets, screw drivers, and hammers.

Notice that every year it is getting harder to find USA made tools? Last week I was in the Snap-on truck and noticed that their ratchets had something different about them. They didn't say "USA" on the ratchet heads anymore. I tried to call Snap-on and inquire as to where they were made but I only got passed on to somebodys voice mail.

I too have Craftsman sockets and ratchets from the 60s and I agree the ratchets are smooth as silk unlike the clackers they sell today.

Re: Craftsman's return policy

I have never had a problem with any craftsman tool. I even brought on back that I had lost in my yard two years ago. It was rusty but still worked yet they gave me a new one.

Lowe's has the Kobalt brand tools.that have a lifetime warranty. Your suppose to bring back the purchase receipt with you when you make a claim. But how many of us keep each an every us actually keep the receipts.. I brought back a tape measure that still worked but ocassionally got caught on the guide that leads the tape back into the tape measure. NO PROBLEM they took it back without the receipt .
