Here's some pics of the bottle rack I used to have on my trailer but I've changed it now. http://weldingweb.com/showthread.php?t=5460&page=2

is that wide enough that it won't slip past the wheel wells? looks like it does not bolt down but i could be mistaken. would hate for the tail gate to pop down and the bottle rack fly out the back. looks like a design that would work for. me. been trying to come up with something like this. might steal your idea if ya don't mind. it seems simple and efficient.

Its a skid with machine, bottles, racks...everything on one plate. It bolts down to the truck and is not going anywhere.

They are just store bought bottle holders. I believe they call them wall mounts. I weld a washer on them to keep them from opening up in transit should they come loose...other than that, they are stock. I like them because the have a rubber piece on the inside of the ring that keeps the cyl from beebopping around.

Isn't that an issue with the tanks laying down?

Never a problem, I had the acetylene standing up.

Re: oxygen bottle rack for rig

Here's a shot of the bottle rack I have in my truck. Chains are for security, I use a racheting tie down strap around the bottles and rack to keep them securely in place. The rack itself is bolted to the truckbed and u-bolted to the truckbed rail. Chains are wrapped around the cylinder caps, and then around the bottle rack and locked. With the lip around the bottom of the rack, there's no way to lift the cylinders free.

It's not perfect, but I had the tubing and materials handy. It's one big advantage is that it will hold large or small tanks.

I don't have a picture of it in the truck, but could get one if you're interested.
