your opinion on Hobart BetaMIG 2510 MIG Welder

Hi,I have a chance to trade my new new Chinese inverter(tig/arc/plasma) with a Hobart betamig 2510.
It's a used unit and the owner claims it is in perfect working condition,he wants a$1000 (Canadian Dollars) or trade with a tig welder, from what I have searched this welder is an older model and is no longer in production.
What is your opinion on this mig welder?is it a transformer type or an inverter?
Any input is appreciated.

we have a betamig 251 at school, been using daily for over 10 years and it just keeps on welding! had to replace a few guns in it's life and the usual upkeep but the welder is fantastic! you can't kill it! never understood the short production run of the betamigs.

Thanks for your reply John,I,m glad it's a solid welder ,probably that's why they discontinued the production of it,in my last job we had a Hobart MIG welder that was at least 30 years old and still worked perfectly.
