MM 185 or MM 175 ?

Hello, I have a brand spanking new Millermatic 175 that I purchased to do bodywork and light fabrication. I have the chance to trade it for a nearly new Millermatic 185. What do you think ? I like the 60% duty cycle of the 185, and portability isn’t an issue.

Thanks for the input.

I run both units. Based on performance alone, I wouldn t hesitate for moment to trade a MM 175 for a MM 185. The 185 is the better unit. With arc dialed in properly, which doesn t necessarily mean the doorchart setting, the 185 has an excellent short circuit transfer arc on .120 (1/8") wall tube. The resulting weld is basically spatter free .
