I picked this up for 88 bucks on ebay, works like a charm so far. we have these at work and I never really gave it much use until about a year ago, I'd say it's my favorite saw for non accurate quickies, use it everyday, so I finally broke down and bought one for home

It has variable speed too!

ive had a milwaukee for years. i biought a bandsaw recently because i wanted more precise cuts, but for many things u cant beat a portaband..

we got one at work ive been using ALOT to cut tons of allthread and kindorf... ours is a portercable porterband.. unfortunatly they dont make a fixture stand for ours anymore but i know guys get the hinged fixture with vise to convert them into a chopstyle bandsaw

Does anyone have any plans on how to convert a portaband into a portaband chop style saw.
I have a milwaukee & i never use it but i may if i could design it to be used as a portaband chop style saw.thanks for any help.

I have the high end Dewalt. I got it from a shutdown I worked at Bridgeport power in CT. The company was literaly going to toss all the electric hand tool as well as all of the safety related gear. Free porta band that would cost almost $400 new(I have the one with the adjustable speed and the light which is really handy) a 12 foot retractable, a few harnesses, lanyards and a few other odds and ends. I regret not taking the 50lbs of 7018 they offered me on the last day. Did not want to seem TOO greedy. hahaha

That DeWalt with the light is amazing and the cuts are VERY accurate for what it is.
