Everlast plasma cutter Cut 50 orderd
So I have been reading this web page for about 2 months and finally decided to purchase a plasma cutter from everlast. I have been in the aluminum boat busniess for 12 years and have since vetured out on my own. I know that word of mouth says a lot about a company. So I value every ones opinions on this website. To start off with I have been very pleased with Alex's help over the last 2 months. Every time I called he ether awnsered the phone or called back within 24 hours. I used to call the miller service rep in my hometown and somtimes would not get a call back for 3-4 days. I belive customer service before and after the sell says a lot about a company. I know from reading in here some of you have had issues with this area.
The deciding factors for me were. 1) The price is right 2) The warranty is exellent providing I am not sending it in every other weekend for repairs No one else out there offers a 5 year warranty. 3) Custumer service After I recieve the unit I will cut some stuff and report back. I am curious on how it will cut aluminum I know that it takes a larger machine to cut 1/8" aluminum verses 1/8" steel. They said it would ship out yesterday or today as I placed my order around 4 o'clock. The unit I purchased was the 50amp case w/80amp torch head. I currently own a 30 amp snap-on plaz but it is limited to 1/8" or less. I bought it 7 years ago and has served me well just need a bigger unit. Hopefully all goes well and I will post again when the unit shows up, hopefully on Monday. |

Re: Cut 50 orderd
Smells like another shameless advertising plant. These things are scripted. At least change the wording to make it look as though a customer wrote it on his own. When will you guys learn? This is not a way to do business.

Re: Cut 50 orderd
The way I was raised my mama would say "You owe that boy an apologie". By the way here are a few more pics. As far as welding expirence goes 6 years was with a company in medford Oregon called Boulton Power Boats and the other 6 was with Alumaweld Boats look them up and then get back to me. I don't appreciate be slandered like that!
![]() The previous pics are of my 1952 willy's wagon rock crawler. The next one's are of a long travel baja bug that I am currently working on and a 93 YJ wrangler that I custom built for a buddy right down to the custom fenders and bright orange paint. |

Re: Cut 50 orderd
Not to steal your great post (other than a couple post). Have a friend that has a 67 Camaro about that color orange and it changes colors (green, red and brown) in the sun as you walk by it. It is a nice car but he has a lot of money in it and I never see it off it's personal lift. He is always changing this to make it the way he wants it and it has not been off his street.
Sure you have a couple bucks in your toys and they have been way off the street. Do you do your own paint or send them out? Related to lower cost options. Funny (not to him), the friend with the Camaro will be stopping over tonight to play with my Cut70D as I could not repair his Pro Cut 55. The two side boards where fried and $1200 (he said each). There's not much more than power resistors on the boards. $200 more for a new unit. The guy he loaned it to smoked it and bought him a smaller BLUE 625 unit he does not like for $1600.

Re: Cut 50 orderd
I do all my own work from the fenders and drive train to the paint and polish. That jeep came in with a 4 cylinder and rusted out pretty good. I installed a chevy 350 backed to a ford 4 speed and tcase and ford half ton axles. A spring over lift gave it about 7" of lift and then custom fenders to cover the 35" boggers. Top that all of with an orange body and a black hard top its pretty sweet.

Re: Cut 50 orderd
It must be nice to be able to do it all yourself in-house.
And again sorry for the few that posted ill comments My good friend and paint guy retired due to painting related health problems. Seems it's more important to wear the right gear for painting than for welding. Sure you know that. So you can bolt a 350 small block to a ford trany and drop it in a Jeep? You're the man from where I sit. But hope to get there one day. Anyway, thanks for posting and if you need anything let us know.

Re: Cut 50 orderd
Nice work Willy!!!
I purchased a cut50 about a month ago & have had no problems with it. I haven't used it alot but when I did need to cut anything from thin steel in a floor pan to cutting 1/2" round bar stock to fabricate some front fender braces on a body I was building on a dirt stockcar, no problems, made a nice smooth cut! I don't have any ties to Everlast & have not been told what to say! Like said by Willy, can't beat the price or warranty! Just my 2 cents for what its worth! Flash |

I am here if anyone needs a timely response? But there is not a welding problem to deal with and it did take 10 minutes for us to get here.. Sorry for the delay.
I agree with FB, take a hint.

Re: Cut 50 orderd
So UPS dropped off my cut50 yesterday. I was very pleased with the quality of the unit for the price. All in all I think it looks like a worth while investment. I got it all hooked up late last night and had to try it. With the air at 60psi and the amps at 40 it cut through a piece of 3/8" flat bar with ease. I can say it definitely cut better than my older snap-on unit. I will make some more cuts and take some pics and get them posted. So far so good but only time will tell how it will hold up. I have some sheet metal work on the Willy's to do in the next week or two and will post more pics then. I am in the middle of setting up my new shop so it might take a little while.

Re: Cut 50 orderd
So far so good. When people come into the shop through out the day they ask me either what that yellow thing is or how well does it work. So naturally I go and plug it in and fire it up. And so far it has fired up and ran like a champ every time. I have only been cutting 3/8" plate but that is mainly what I bought it for. To do brackets and gussets for custom fab. jobs. I have cut through roughly 20" of 3/8" and the consumables still look good. I am a believer so far!

Re: Cut 50 orderd
I belive it was just under a .100". It was a little tricky to pre notch the sheet metal and wrap it to the fenders. I used some card board to make a template and then cut the steel to match. My brother in law is 6'2" 260 lbs. and he got up and stood on them. They are pretty stout. Thanks

Re: Cut 50 orderd
Mainly because I have moved out of my previous shop were I was sharing equipment with my father. I am married with 2 kids (the second is less than a month old) and have relocated to another state. I just purchased a miller 252 and have a model 4 bender on the way, so as you can see a lot of money going out and not much coming in at the moment. And for the price and warrenty it was worth a shot.

And I in no way am defending him as "his" work speaks for itself. I like that fact he is happy with our product and gave us a chance. And he was nice enough to post and share his hard work. Sorry it bothers people that again have no reason to even post here in the Everlast product and support forum (nor even own Chinese/imported tool or parts themselves). Guess they have never opened their own unit up. We all know (I hope) he did not do all the fabricated work with a 50 amp plasma cutter from Everlast. I think I saw a Miller welder in one of his pictures. I'm sure he has a lot more tools and some spray guns too.
