Goodbye

Well folks, this is it for me. I have seen plenty enough to know what this forum is all about. It has become quite evident that Welding Web condones the actions that have set me off. I have seen new members belittled and made fun of for asking legitimate questions. I have seen people attacked for having a different opinion. I have seen the “Good ole Boy” mentality. I have seen downright dangerous posts and outright misinformation in, of all places, the “Safety” area! I have seen double standards, hypocritical actions, from members as well as moderators. I have seen snap decisions made from moderators based off of just a few posts rather than the situation as a whole. I have seen the “Good Ole Boys” out worded with facts and well worded posts and when they could not come out on top and were exposed for what they really are their only recourse was to silence the individual. I have seen moderators, “abandon ship” and post some “dirty” stuff on other forums and climb their wet rat butts back on the ship they just shot a hole through the side of. I have heard so much here about telling it like it is and not sugar coating it, but when it is done to one of the “good ole boys” the tears start falling. They can sure dish it out but when it comes back around they squeal like a pinched little girl.

As for the Everlast/Longevity/Hypertherm Shootout, I will give Specter an A for effort, but all in all, what a joke. The only one that commands any respect is Jim Colt, and my hat is off to him, and only him.

Specter made the comment that this is not the “Jerry Springer Show” I agree, it is not. It is actually a combination of the Jerry Springer Show, a bad first cut of the movie Jackass, and The Smoking Gun Presents The worlds Dumbest Hypocrites/Boneheads.

In one thread a moderator gave this warning. “To the rest of you: Let Specter do his thing, uninterrupted. First one to fly off the handle gets 30 days. So, watch, critique, question, and evaluate. But no bashing- unless something blows up. In that case, all bets are off!!! “

It should have read, “To the rest of you: Let Specter do his thing, uninterrupted. First one not in the “Good Ole Boy Club” to fly off the handle gets 30 days. So, watch, critique, question, and evaluate. But no bashing- unless something blows up. In that case, all bets are off!!! “

This is evident due to the fact that within hours, a member posted a bash. This bash was deleted (swept under the rug) and the member did not receive the “30 days” made obvious by the active member status where you could see his profile active after this happened. How do you expect anyone to respect actions like that? The warning was quite clear, and was violated directly. Of course how can anyone respect a warning like this when the poster has a bash in his signature line? WW moderation at its best.

It was also stated that certain threads would be left as they are so that people can see what others are really about. I would just say that this goes for all involved, it is quite clear what the mentality of certain members and moderators are. It is shown in the posts that are there for all to see.

These are all points that I have gathered by simply reading the posts of others.

So to wrap this up, I will be joining the ranks of the ones smart enough to watch from the outside and laugh, not just at Wrongevity and Neverlast, but many others here as well.

Know WeldingWeb, No peace. No WeldingWeb, Know peace.

Re: Goodbye

Laredo,

Sorry to see you leave after 9 days and 14 posts.

You provided "so much insight" I don't really know how we'll make it through another day without you.

As they say down here in Redneck Country, don't let the door hit you in the A$$ on the way out.

Nothing goin on here I didn't expect. Same behaviour on many of the forums I have joined. Still like WW a whole lot better than most though.

Re: Goodbye

I knew we could talk you into staying, Billy. Isn't it interesting how the Bozos you wanted everyone to treat "professionally" showed their methods and maddness to all who were watching? I hope you were able to follow along even though you couldn't post.
Welcome back again.
