how many amps

im poping the breaker on a 20 amp circuit with a lincoln 140 after about a 8 to 10 second bead. how many amps do i need. and if i were to buy a generator what kind can i get that would work

I would think that breaker is fine...What else is using that circuit? How many amps draw does the machine manual (or tag) say it requires? Is this just at full power, or all settings? Are you using an extension cord (if so, how long, and what gauge wire)? Tell us more!

it says imput current @ rated output 20Amps. imput power 120/1/60

nothing else on circuit i think and its at full machine power but it was tripping the same at 75% power. was welding a metal rod to a flat piece. putting wheels on a engine houst. my old house never tripped a circuit so i never paid attention

you night need to replace breaker maybe worn out or just a bad breaker
but from your other post you say it s in the gargae
it could be a gfi breaker they are known to trip easy

they are gfi in garage i did not think that the laundry room would be though was using a ridgid 10-3 cord
