tig welders

i am interested geting a tig machine but know very little about it i ahve tried it before and found it real nice to weld with a tig.what is the differance in the tig and stick machines? can a dc stick machine be converted for tig?i would appreciate any info you can share thanks.

You can dc tig with a dc stick machine but you're much better off buying a real tig machine. A real tig machine will have a gas valve, post flow gas timer, and a way to start the arc, either lift/touch or high frequency. If you want to weld aluminum, then you need an ac/dc tig machine.

Don't forget about a remote and much finer ability for dialing in the amps.

I real tig is just a stick welder with all the options needed for good tig welding.
