Advice on Lincoln 255 Mig Welder...

I currently have a miller sidekick xl mig welder which is about 15 years old. Been wanting to get a bigger mig welder for several years, but not until this one junked out. Now the sidekick has junked out. I have the opportunity to buy a Lincoln 255 mig welder from a neighbor that has been used very little and very well taken care of. Comes with regulator but no tank. Can buy it for $950-$1000. Any opinions on whether the lincoln 255 is a good welder and if this price is reasonable? I farm so the welder would be used for a wide variety of uses. Any help appreciated...

the lincoln 255 is a great machine i own one my self and i use it alot. the only problem i had with it is we where burning up the gun in about a year time, so i put a 400 amp gun on it and i have no problem i also was running .045 and 98/2 mix gas the 250l gun was a little light duty for that if you can get it for the price you said that would be a good deal i paid $1,600 for mine 5 years ago i hope this info helps you out
