Weld all 160p VS Weld all 160pi

Hi long time lurker first time posting.

Anyways been reading allot and I am looking at the 160p or the 160pi.

Both seem like great units so I am curious what the exact differences are. I am a hobby welder and do AL, Stainless, plasma and some arc welding outside from time to time.

Does anyone have or has tried the black 160pi unit???

Thanks and please note I would rather not see this post turn into a bash fest.

Re: Weld all 160p VS Weld all 160pi

SNOW JW,

I sent a PM describing both units. The major difference is the IGBT vs MOSFET technology. The warranty is the same on both and LONGEVITY offers the best MOSFET and IGBT units.

We recommend IGBT for commercial use or if you own a shop and will use the unit frequently. Also the IGBT 160PI also has a better more powerful arc and a constant pilot arc.

Thank you.

If you have anymore questions, please feel free to call our sales manager Jesse at 877-566-4462 x 202.

We will also offer you a very nice WW discount.

Thanks

Re: Weld all 160p VS Weld all 160pi

I had a 160P and it worked great for me. Then I had the opertunity to trade it in on a 200PI, I took it. So I cannot compare 160P and the 160PI. From a operators viev alone, the PI machine has a plasma cutter that is much easier to start. On the P machine there are a few more knobs to dael with, more welding options. Every thing else seams to be the same.

I would recommend the the PI machine.
