Scott engine driven welders

Has anyone use one. I have a chance to buy one but don't know if it is worth having. It is rated at 200 amps and is powered by a 16 hp engine.thanks Chad

Re: Scott engine driven welders

I have looked for info on Scott welders myself and there is little to be found. A friend has one that I have used that came from L&N RR ,they are a factory version of the alternator or weldernator units found homemade on the internet. They weld with high frequency AC current and emit a whistle or squeal when welding, being 2 man portable there is a lot of welder in a small package. A wiring diagram which may or may not be under the cover and parts on the alternator end are the biggest issues. I wouldn't trade my Bobcat for one but 2 people won't load a Bobcat on a truck. Hope this helps . Danny.

I say watch the welder and my black lab says watch it yourself my eyes are killing me.
