Hello from Odessa, TX
Hi all,
Just stumbled across this forum while searching for some pointers for GMAW-P with our Lincoln Power Mig 350MP. We've had the machine for a few months, and started off using it GMAW-S with 75/25 like we'd been doing with our old Millermatic. After a little research, I decided to try a 85/15 mixture, and it seems to work well with both -P and -S. We are a commercial door and hardware shop, and our welding is primarily with light gage (14 through 20) hollow metal doors and frames. 90% of our welding is butt joints in flat position. Back to the machine - I've been using the chart inside the door to the wire feeder compartment to get some starting WFS for the various metals I'm welding, and as a first step, they seem to do a good job. Those values in the chart are for Mode 5 (Non-synergic), but, nonetheless, they seem to work fine in Mode 11 (-S) and Mode 14 (-P). Is anyone else on this forum using Lincoln GMAW-P on light-gage metals? If so, I'd like to hear if anyone has suggestions for refining the WFS and Trim in Mode 14 on this machine. Oh, we also acquired a Lincoln 275 Precision TIG machine which we're slowly integrating into our welding processes. Lots of knowledge and experience here, and I plan on visiting regularly. TIA for any feedback, John Brazos Door & Hardware Odessa, TX Lincoln Power Mig 350MP Lincoln 275 Precision TIG |
