Stainless Steel Pipe

Does anyone have advice on tig welding 2" stainless steel sch.10 pipe. I can put a decent root in but my cap usually has an irregular width. Also I don't get as much color,on the cap, as I should. It usually comes out a dull gray instead of gold color.

Jess, believe or not--this isn't the first time someone's asked about welding SS tube or
pipe. This comes up at least once a week.

Suggest you search links for 'stainless, stainless pipe, turbo exhaust, etc.'
It'll give you a much better picture of what's happening.
