Can I tack with TIG, then weld with MIG?

Folks, I bought a new exhaust system for my car, but I have to modify the positioning of the air tube for the catalytic converters (the tube was MIG welded from the factory). I have cut the tube off, modified it to fit as required, and ground away the MIG welding from both pieces (the air tube, and the tube to which it is welded).

I want to tack the tube to it's new location, then take it to get MIG welded back together (I don't have a MIG welder, I just have a TIG welder, but I do not want to TIG it back together).

Can I tack the tube in place with my TIG welder (I have ER70S2 rod), then have it MIG welded (over top of the TIG tack welding too)?

Thanks.

Sure. The question that is usually asked is the other way around but no problem MIG welding over a TIG tack.

Just curious, why don't you care to TIG weld the whole thing?

Duane, thanks for the response, I appreciate it.

My TIG skills are not sufficient to weld this puppy, but I can sure do a mean tack.

Regards, thanks again.
